The Keep Girls Safe project (KGS
The Keep Girls Safe project (KGS) works in collaboration with government agencies, local non-government organizations, and community groups. The project developed from the needs identified between 1998 and 2004 to raise awareness and reduce the vulnerability of women, girls and boys to sexual exploitation and human trafficking. In 2011 a shelter was established to provide safe environment for girls who were at risk of trafficking and exploitation in addition to providing education opportunities for children who were at risk of dropping out of school. a shelter for high-risk girls, plus youth clubs and community activities that provide awareness and knowledge raising of human trafficking issues.
As ADRA Thailand’s longest running project, the intervention has benefited over 200 girls through the shelter services, offered financial assistance to 500 students enabling them to remain in school and attend tertiary level education.
